Defiance Machine offers both complete actions with one-piece bolts and advanced primary extraction, and also receiver bodies are available in three different lengths. These correspond with Remington style bolts. Everything we make is custom. Every product or model can be ordered in any configuration you choose. Right or left hand, target or hunter port, stainless steel or chrome moly- it doesn’t matter and prices don’t vary with your choices. We work very hard at shipping ordered product within 30 to 60 days.

 Actions are completely assembled, lapped and ready to bed. Tolerances are so tight and consistent at Defiance, that all pieces can be interchangeable.  Our one-piece bolts ensure added strength. The timing of the bolt is so critical to primary extraction, trigger engagement and smooth cocking, that we believe this is the best choice for smooth operation in general.

Receivers are ready to be mated with any two-piece Remington style bolts out in the market. Please be sure to order, and make sure you receive a Remington style bolt handle for attachment. Timing and placement are crucial. We have links to experienced gunsmiths who can weld the two-piece bolts.

We now offer a light-weight sheep action style and a short XP tang design.  A bench rest style action is also available at a very affordable price when ordered directly off the website. With this action, we’re not offering as many options in order to keep the price at a minimum. We are currently prototyping a 50 caliber action that we hope to be shipping in early fall.

Specs-

At Defiance we only machine our receivers and bolts after heat treat to ensure they remain true. All lug ways are wire EDM’d. The outside diameter of our actions and receivers can be ordered in either 1.350 or 1.470. The inside diameters are honed to .7025 for a .700 bolt or .7520-.7525 for a .750 bolt.  We literally manufacture too many different configurations to supply you the weight on any particular action before it is made.
