Defiance Machine is pleased to announce that the customers have spoken, and Defiance has answered. Several customers said they don’t like how much their scope mounts stick out beyond the rear scope rail. This happens with certain scope and mount combinations.
Defiance is launching the solution of a new mount configuration that goes from 4 slots in front and 2 slots in the rear to 3 slots in front and 1 slot centered in the rear. Reports of overhang focused on the rear scope rail. Now, with only 1 slot in the rear, all mount types sit perfectly in the center of the back portion of the stock.
The 3 and 1 rail configuration was tested with several different scopes and mounts. All scope and mount configurations worked perfectly. You can even move your scope with mounts from another gun to this one with no need to adjust the mounts. Eye relief was no problem for people of varying heights and builds.
Defiance is so confident that the new 3 and 1 rail configuration will work, that is their new default standard. The original 4 and 2 scope rail configuration is available as an option. The new 3 and1 configuration will be the default standard for integral and stand-alone scope rails.
Defiance engineers and R&D team are exploring several new ways to address scope position. Several factors being considered are the fit but also the weight. They are aware that hunters are continuously working to improve their performance and subtle tweaks to position, and weight play a huge role.
Some of the solutions being explored involve different lug configurations. They are even testing a two lug action that has a 60 degree handle throw. All of these factors are being explored with long time, active hunters so that Defiance can provide the best solutions for your hunting action needs.
