Sometime ago, we made the decision to discontinue the Defiance anTi. At the time, demand didn’t justify keeping it in the lineup. But something interesting happened. More and more people started asking for it back. Builders and hunters who want a lightweight steel action with high performance capabilities wanted the original anTi back. Slowly but steadily, the requests started piling up.

You asked for it. Repeatedly. So, it only made sense that we brought it back.

The anTi is a minimalist take on Defiance’s legendary precision actions. It was engineered from the ground up to remove unnecessary weight without sacrificing the rigidity, reliability, and precision that define our name. This isn’t a skeletonized experiment or a compromise piece. It’s a purpose-driven, steel lightweight action designed to perform in the real world.

Approximate weights (with standard 2-piece aluminum rail configuration):

  • 23.5 oz – Short Action (Remington SA footprint)
  • 24 oz – Medium Action (Industry Standard Medium, formerly XM Plus)
  • 24.3 oz – Long Action (Remington LA footprint)

That puts the anTi in striking distance of many titanium actions, but with the proven dependability of steel.

Innovative Weight Reduction. No Corners Cut.

The receiver is machined from a single piece of pre-hardened, aircraft-certified 416 stainless steel. Starting with premium pre-hardened material allows us to hold tighter tolerances and maintain structural integrity while removing excess mass through strategic lightening cuts. Every detailed cut serves a purpose. Every ounce removed is intentional.

The bolt is machined from 4340 chrome moly in a single operation, enabling guaranteed headspace of +/- .001″. That precision matters, especially for those running Ruckus-style pre-fit barrels who expect repeatable, predictable results.

Why Steel Instead of Titanium?

Titanium has its place. But steel brings advantages that matter when the shot counts. Steel offers greater galling resistance, proven long-term durability, and consistent bolt feel under hard use. The anTi was designed to rival titanium in weight while delivering the smoothness and longevity that experienced shooters trust. You get a lighweight rifle without sacrificing the mechanical confidence that comes from a hardened steel receiver and chrome moly bolt.

The detachable rail system also allows for even lighter configurations when direct mounting optics is preferred, giving builders flexibility to tailor weight exactly where they want it.
